Breaking Millie with Agility!

Millie has to go back to the vets lame so they can best diagnose the cause of her lameness... problem is she's now had so much rest that she's not going lame as badly or as often. Some hard work it is then!

Millie was definitely up for some hard work at Agility! She got tired pretty quickly, took some poles down, went a little slower than normal - but she didn't stop going!

Here's a short video of her running:

As you can see she's measuring the jumps slightly and she's not as fluid as she once was.

There's a few things that could cause this:

  • Lameness / Pain - This might be that she's feeling tight or in pain and is a precursor to lameness. It could even be a learned response to some previous pain.
  • Loss of Confidence - She hasn't done any Agility since Easter; that's quite a long time! She's a little out of practice and out of shape. Her love of agility is the only thing that didn't change, she may have been wondering why she was allowed to do some training after so long without any.
  • ME! - The other major change is how far along I am in my pregnancy! As I'm 6 months pregnant I can't run like I used to, so she could just be questioning my running style - it is a team sport after all!

She didn't seem to go lame after the training session, so the next step is getting out the dreaded ball flinger... One thing is for sure though, Millie is going to LOVE this week!
