We had a great time at the Thames show, we were a little worried before that the weather would have been a massive problem. Starting off with weather warnings issued for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Coupled with roadworks and motorway closures planned it seemed like the show had a bad omen to even start with!
Leaving on the Friday it seemed the weather wasn't quite as bad as it was being made out! Thankfully! We also heard that the roadworks had been cancelled for the weekend. Maybe the show was going to be good after-all?
We love the grounds at Newbury showground, roadways and drainage are very useful with such a busy show! We did encounter one problem though... The excellent drainage caused us to loose 2 mallets to the stones in the ground.
Once we were all set up we got some excellent pictures as always! There were some perfect courses set up from our point of view. Here's one of my favorites from the Medium 1-4 Jumping on Sunday.
The Thames show is the largest 2 day Agility event in the calendar with a total of 14 rings this year! With that in mind we try our best to cover as many classes as possible with our aim to catch each person once. We covered most of the following classes:
Small GD 3,4 Agility
Small GD 1,2 Agility
Medium GD 1,2 Agility
Medium GD 3,4 Agility
Large GD 1,2 Agility
Colimanor C1,2 Large Agility
Medium GD 5,6,7 Agility
Large KC Olympia G6,7 Agility Pt1
Large G3 Agility Pt1
Medium C1-4 Jumping
Large G3 Agility Pt2
If you've ever been to or heard much about the Thames show, you'll know it's one of the biggest social events of the Agility calendar. All because of the party!

All you need is a tent and a band and the agility crowd really know how to party! I didn't catch the name of the band, but they did some classics to keep any age group happy from Queen to Reef.
I think we need to have a special mention to the man of the show... Andrew Dicker! He works hard for many months of the year getting this show in order, coordinating everyone and ensuring the show runs as smoothly as possible. Thank you Andrew!
I can't wait to go back to the show next year.
